Flip-flop warning

<a onclick=”window.open(this.href, ‘_blank’, ‘width=406,height=304,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0′); return false” href=”http://kelidei.typepad.com/.shared/image.html?/photos/uncategorized/artf22.jpg”><img title=”Artf22″ height=”149″ alt=”Artf22″ src=”http://kelidei.typepad.com/keli_rose/images/artf22.jpg” width=”200″ border=”0″ style=”FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 5px 5px” /> Now that summer is in full swing I feel it is my duty and obligation to pass on this public service announcement. Apparently flip-flops can be hazardous to your health. This was the topic of much concern in recent days in various news outlets in Chicago for some reason. So far —as a life-long, dedicated flip-flop wearer (I own six pair) I wear them all the time in the summer— and I even wear them indoors in the winter, I have avoided any serious flip-flop related health problems —except for the isolated flip-flop blow out that has caused me to stumble and stub a toe. Now with this flurry of warnings about heel pain, back stress, ankle and leg problems I am conflicted. Do I, as one news article urged, ditch my favorite summer foot wear or do I continue to put my health at risk for the sake of feeling the freedom and comfort of barefeet— and the unbridled joy of opening my closet door to find a variety of color, texture, and style? The article claims I would be better off healthwise investing in a good solid sandal with a sturdy sole which can be bought for a mere $70.00—- Do you know how many pairs of flip-flops I can buy for $70.00????

<span style=”font-size: 1.2em;”><a onclick=”window.open(this.href, ‘_blank’, ‘width=310,height=201,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0′); return false” href=”http://kelidei.typepad.com/.shared/image.html?/photos/uncategorized/birk.jpg”><img title=”Birk” height=”129″ alt=”Birk” src=”http://kelidei.typepad.com/keli_rose/images/birk.jpg” width=”200″ border=”0″ style=”FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 5px 5px” /> Hey!!!!— wait a minute! Doesn’t that sound like the description of a Birkenstock sandal??? Could I have stumbled onto yet another left wing conspiracy? Could flip flops become reviled — like cigarettes and fast food? Will those who wear them become social pariahs like smokers and hefty patrons of Mickey D’s? Will we soon be hearing the left whine about the escalating health care costs due to flip-flop wearers—when applying for health insurance will we have to state whether or not we wear flip-flops? Could this be yet another leftist infringement on our rights and freedoms—- or was it just an incredibly slow news week last week (prior to the London attack)? I guess we will just have to wait and see! ;-D

I’ll bet you’ll start seeing signs at the grocery store “No barefeet or flip-flops”

  2. Redgardless of any health concerns, too many young people have taken to wearing flip flops at Mass. I go to a Roman Catholic church near East Stroudsburg University. On Holy Thursday 2005 the song leader wore a baby blue blouse, baby blue mini-skirt and baby blue flip flops. Mind you, they were NOT Sigerson-Morrison flip flops but K-Mart specials. This is not how a person should dress at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. (in front of the congregation)
How many of these “fashion conscious” young ladies remember the word pedicure. (or Soap and Water) I think young pretty feet are beautiful but there is a time and place for wearing flip flops. JOHN BALONE

I don’t know what a typepad account is, so I will just send this and hope it gets to you.

You will also find in Trial, Tribulation & Triumph, a discussion of prophecies (many of them centuries old) of a rise of Islam to fight the Church. That includes a 3rd historic attempt by militant Islam to capture Western Europe. According to those prophecies this upcoming 3rd attempt (there have already been two such previous attempts will also fail.

    All my love in Christ
